Sugar-Free Cranberry and Pear Chutney

Inspired by Jane Jackson (my Grandma)

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated

  • 1 1/4 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 1/4 tsp orange zest

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • 6-ounces fresh cranberries

  • 1 bosc pear, peeled and cut into small cubes

  • 3 tsp stevia powder- add a little less or a little more depending on sweet tooth!



  1.  In a saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, onion, ginger, lemon zest, orange zest, cinnamon sticks, and ground cloves. Bring to a boil and reduce until mixture has thickened, approximately 10 minutes.
  2. Toss in cranberries, pear, and stevia. Once thoroughly combined, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until cranberries have popped and pears are soft, stirring every so often. This step will take approximately 30 minutes.
  3. Turn off heat, remove cinnamon stick, and, using a potato masher, mash until mixture reaches desired texture. Transfer to a bowl and chill before serving.
